Collective Arts has achieved something special. Fusing creativity and art with craft beverages, the brewing company is dedicated to creating innovative products and experiences that build meaningful connections with the global art and music communities.
Founded in 2013, the Hamilton-born brewery adapted to the new environment, including creating hand sanitizer and launching a delivery service.
The challenge
After Jenn Pavicich, Collective Arts’ Assistant Vice President of Human Resources & Legal, had been at the company for a couple of months, she realized that they needed to invest in HR software. “Easily housing and sharing HR data wasn’t possible, which became an issue when year-end came and we needed to decide on budgets for the following year.”
The solution
She conducted extensive research within the HR industry and narrowed her options down to six platforms. “As soon as I saw the benefits and the cost-savings from getting a software, it was an easy decision to invest in one.”
When making her final choice, Jenn prioritized customizability. “We wanted a software that could grow with us, one that would listen to feedback and adapt. Humi became the frontrunner because there were many opportunities for customization, whereas the more traditional software companies were already set in stone.”
“As soon as I saw the benefits and the cost-savings from getting a software, it was an easy decision to invest in one.”
The results
Since switching to Humi in 2019, Jenn says “Humi’s our one-stop-shop for all our HR needs”, which has been especially useful in supporting their growth in the last year.
Collective Arts employees also reap the benefits of an all-in-one software: “the employees appreciate it because they can self-serve without having to always come to the HR team for information.”
“Humi’s our one-stop-shop for all our HR needs.”
Hiring and onboarding during the pandemic
“Humi’s onboarding module has been a lifesaver. There’s no way we could have onboarded three people a week without it.”
From onboarding tasks, to sending documents, Humi automates the employee onboarding process, taking the weight off the HR team's shoulders. With everything uploaded and connected to other HR functions, Jenn and the team can focus their attention on other tasks. “It automates our tasks, and everything flows much easier. It saves us a ton of time.”
Along with providing enhanced employee onboarding, Humi’s recruiting feature was revolutionary to the HR team who previously recruited using Excel spreadsheets. “Our recruiter loves Humi Recruiting”.
“Humi’s onboarding module has been a lifesaver. There’s no way we could have onboarded the number of people we did in 2020, without it.”
Numerous changes in company policies
As new information around the pandemic emerged and government guidelines changed very frequently, Collective Arts was forced to modify their COVID-19 policy many times and will continue to modify and adjust as the situation is fluid and ever changing . “It would have been a nightmare to have sent each policy to our 186 employees via email and manually make sure all employees signed”. Jenn also leans on Humi’s company announcement features to make large COVID-19-related announcements.

Looking forward
In the future, Jennifer plans on using Humi to communicate and track company, departmental, and personal KPIs to enhance company and employee performance. She is also looking to track diversity and inclusion metrics to further support her mission in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. She’s been working closely with Humi’s product team to ensure that upcoming inclusivity features will meet her company's needs as they continue to scale. Thank you for all your product feedback, Jenn!
